North Sunrise Little League (NSLL) has a formal program to encourage volunteerism within the league. The reason is simple, your help is necessary! NSLL is a non-profit organization that exists and operates by the cooperative efforts of many volunteers, from its Board of Directors to its team managers, coaches, umpires, team parents and a large body of other supporting volunteers. This network of volunteers requires continuous growth with a common purpose and goal: to provide a positive baseball learning experience for all NSLL players.
The Volunteer Program allows NSLL to maintain reasonable registration fees by providing parents or other family members the opportunity to volunteer within their community. We know that this will be a fun and easy way to contribute to a quality baseball experience for all. Simply put, the more involved you are, the more fun both you and your child(ren) will have!
The Volunteer Program is a responsibility in addition to the registration fee. During the scheduled baseball season, volunteers are required to fulfill 6 volunteer points per player playing in North Sunrise Little League.
For those who think they simply do not have the time to volunteer, a $300 “buy out” is available. When registering online, the parent must agree to the volunteer policy or pay the “buy out” in order to complete registration.
The Board of Directors has made a commitment to account for completed volunteer points. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining an accounting of completed volunteer points and will work with the Treasurer directly to ensure volunteer points or “buyouts” are fulfilled. The Volunteer Coordinator will apprise managers and team parents of completed volunteer points from time volunteered, buyouts throughout the season.
Review the attached list of volunteer opportunities. Log in to the SignUp app. Dates and shifts will be posted soon. Shifts are based on availability, first come first served.
After completing your required points, please advise your Team Parent of each date and points per day. Team Parents will work directly with our Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that all families have completed their points and/or buy out.
No Shows - A reminder email will be sent to everyone that signs up through the SignUp app. If you do not show up for your scheduled shift a $50 fee will be automatically applied to your account. Please advise us before 48 hours if you are unable to complete a shift. If within 48 hours, please contact another family and ask for help.
Rainouts/Canceled Games - All shifts that are canceled due to a rainout or cancellation must be rescheduled for a later date.
